Building and caring for a collection
Developing the Joseph Clark Collection from the ground up has meant taking responsibility for the work that surrounds each acquisition. Joseph brings firsthand experience of the practical, financial and administrative decisions that turn individual works into a carefully managed collection.
That experience extends to arranging conservation, reviewing condition, framing and storage, and coordinating packing, transport, insurance and loans. Care for a work continues through its movement, installation and long-term stewardship.
It also encompasses import procedures and documentation, tax and VAT considerations, and the accounting treatment of acquisitions and collection costs. Having managed these processes directly, Joseph understands how they connect and where specialist input is essential.
